Light Rings
Light Rings is part of two series that complete the project Light Arranged by Chance. In this series light sensitive colour photographic paper spins on a record player in a light proof box. The lid of the box has a six degree sector of a circle broken into twelve pieces laser cut from it. A flashgun fires light through the holes. Coloured gels are used to expose each ring to twelve colours. Five flash exposures are made of each colour. Whilst the process is repeated identically for each ring of each circle chance determines the resulting image.
